Big Dave

"Big Dave is very tall, very strong and speaks with a deep, loud voice."

He is a friendly giant who lives in the The Hard Lands in a big stone house in the crags north-east of the Creepy Crawly Woods.

The house was carved out of the top of a mountain that blew off the crags many hundreds of years ago during a particularly nasty Maelstrom storm season. Big Dave thought it had fallen in just the right spot, so he carved a home out of it with the help of Stonegut the Troll and GRiNdaL the Goblin. He especially likes it when Stonegut visits and they spend time talking about the old times, and about how much stronger and taller they used to be when they were younger...

Big Dave enjoys living near the Pit 'N' Swet Tavern as he also loves spending time with the Ogres and Orcs, singing songs and feasting.

He does have to sit outside though, as once he forgot just how tall and strong he was, stood up to leave, and took the roof of the tavern with him.

Fortunately, so as not to make him feel too bad, Stumper built the ‘Grog Garden’ out the front of the Tavern so that now, everyone can enjoy Big Dave’s company.

He also spends his time taking long hikes around the Hard Lands (which, doesn’t take him too long as his stride is so big).

He does this to keep himself fit, even though most people, when they see him coming over the horizon, scream and run away (which is a shame, because Big Dave is a gentle fellow and knows some really good jokes!)

Dave's Friendship with GRiNdaL the Goblin

Helping GRiNdaL and the Goblins is always a pleasure for Big Dave, especially when it’s something heavy or too big for them to lift.

In return, the Goblins help out Big Dave by getting small things out of caves that he can’t go and get by himself.
