Queen's Feather

Weapon

Legendary Requires attunement by a Rogue and worshipper of the Raven Queen

Finesse, Light, Magical, Thrown

This dagger is one of the most prestigious weapons made by The Raven Queen herself and gifted upon her devoted worshippers. The blade itself is made from Shadowsteel, a material made permanent from shadow stuff. The blade looks like a raven’s feather and the handle is made from dark leather.

You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The dagger has a thrown range of 90 feet instead of 20/60.

Marked by the Queen. When you hit a creature with Queen’s Feather, you can choose to apply Mark of the Queen to it. A creature marked in this way remains marked until you dismiss it (no action required) or until you use this feature again. While marked you gain the following benefits against the creature:

  • Enhanced Sneak Attack. Your Sneak Attack deals an additional three dice worth of damage against it (not only with Queen’s Feather).

  • Gravewalker’s Demise. If it has previously died, you gain advantage on all attack rolls against it.

  • Death’s Guise. When making a contested Dexterity (Stealth) check against the marked creature’s Wisdom (Perception), you count as heavily obscured while in dim light or darkness for the sake of hiding.

  • Vital Mark. The number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking the marked creature is reduced by 1.

  • Death is Always Around the Corner. As a bonus action, you can teleport to the marked creature, appearing within 5 feet of it at an unoccupied space. When you teleport in this way, it can be anywhere on the same plane as you or on a plane of existence which is connected to the Shadowfell. Once you use this feature, the creature is no longer marked.

Once you have marked a creature in this way, you must finish a long rest before you can do so again.

Balance Between Death and Life. Once per turn when you hit a creature with Queen’s Feather and you use either Dark Strike or Divine Smite, you deal an additional dice worth of damage.

Shadowsteel. Queen’s Feather is permanently under the Shadowsteel spell without the weakness to magic and spells.

Shadow Throw. When you hit a creature with the Queen’s Feather you can choose to teleport to it. You appear within 5 feet of it in an unoccupied space. If the hit was a critical hit, you can immediately make an additional attack against it, if you fulfill the requirements for Sneak Attack against it, you can use your Sneak Attack against it, even if you already used your Sneak Attack this turn. The damage from Sneak Attack when you deal it for a second time is halved.

You can use this feature twice per long rest.

Undying Protection. While in the shadowfell, abilities which would save you from death are empowered. Whenever an effect such as Death Ward is used to stop you from going to 0 hit points, you can choose a point that you can see within 60 feet of you which is in dim-light or darkness to teleport to. When you do so, you gain an amount of temporary hit points equal to your level and you can immediately make a Dexterity (Stealth) check if you fulfill the requirements to do so.
