The Legend of the 'Fing'
the Fing is a magical creature that can change shape
The legend of the 'Fing' is very important and very popular with all the goblins in the Creepy Crawly Woods.
The story is often told that the Fing is a magical creature that can change shape to appear to be 'anything', especially an unusually shaped, furry, spiny or slimy 'anything' and enjoys eating small naughty goblins that do not get a good night's sleep.

The goblin's will often tease each other by pointing out some strange or unusual object that they have noticed and shouting "FING!" at the top of their voices.
In order to stop the Fing from eating any small goblins, tradition says that leaving out a small piece of fairy cake or a bag of salted mushrooms often does the trick.

Orcs and Ogre's think the legend of the Fing is a load of nonsense.
The Fings themselves, of course, think the Ogres and the Orcs smell, and don't really care what they think.
Contrary to popular belief, they don't actually mind the goblins that much, as they often make really nice fairy cakes and other tasty snacks that they leave out for no apparent reason.
