Bees of Kingshive

"...Other bees find them a bit pompous. ..."

The Bees of Kingshive are the personal swarm of the Woodland King and provide many things for his Majesty and his Court.

They are much larger than regular honeybees, which makes it easier for them to wear their tiny Royal surcoats.

They can be spotted easily flying over the wildflower glades and open spaces of the Creepy Crawley Woods as they never travel alone and always fly in strict formations.

Other bees find them a bit pompous.

Location

The hive is found on the south-west edge of the Creepy Crawly Woods between the Melliferm Copse and the Tall Fairy's oaks.

The meadows are always thriving with wildflowers, giving an almost year-round source of nectar.

Busy, busy bees

The Hive itself is a bustling business.

Royal Jelly is cultivated by the Queen Bee and delivered to the Royal breakfast table every sunrise.

Regular honey from the Hives is used by the baker at the Woodland King's Hall to make the famous Kingshive Honeycakes.

Even the Pit’N’Swet makes a tasty mead for its more discerning customers from this honey.

Enchanted Beeswax

As well as normal beeswax, which is used by many in the Woods and often sold at a healthy profit to those in the Big City, the Queen Bee of Kingshive also produces a tiny quantity of ‘Queens’ Beeswax every year. This exceptionally rare form of beeswax is enchanted and is used in the manufacture of only the rarest of objects.

The Golden Hornet Saddle worn by Henry the Hornet is made of Queen’s Beeswax.
